Start staking
This document will show you how to start staking (also known as bonding) DOT for Polkadot nomination pool on the Earning page on SubWallet web dashboard.
Step 1: Open SubWallet web dashboard and choose the Earning tab on the sidebar.
Step 2: In the Earning section, you will see a list of available protocols.
Since you want to stake tokens for Polkadot Nomination Pool, click on the "Stake now" button of the Polkadot Nomination Pool protocol.
If you have previously staked for certain protocols, when you choose the Earning tab on the sidebar, the screen will be displayed in the following manner. Don't worry, just simply click on the "+" icon to access the same screen as the picture above.
Step 3: You will be directed to the Earn screen.
On the right panel, all the steps involved in the process are listed clearly for you to see. After completing each step, you will be automatically directed to the next step.
Step 4: To begin the process, please enter the required staking information.
If you are in all-accounts mode like the current example, you would need to choose the staking account.
If you have already been in a single account mode, you would not have to select the account. The screen would be as the following image:
We suggest you pay close attention to the pool you are choosing. When selecting pool, SubWallet supports you with the latest record of pool details. Please click the three-dot icon on the right-hand side of each pool to see the pool details.
You could use the sort function to find the most suitable pool according to your needs. Please click the sort icon on the upper right corner and choose your sorting criteria.
We also identify destroyed/ inactive pools. We suggest that you always choose an active pool to stake with.
To filter out the active pool, click the fader icon on the right-hand side of the search validator bar. Choose the "Active" checkbox and click "Apply filter".
After choosing the pool, please make sure that the amount you want to stake is at least equal to or greater than the pool's minimum staking required.
For Polkadot nomination pool, the minimum active stake is 1 DOT.
Please keep in mind that each network has regulations regarding the existential deposit (ED). When selecting the stake amount, it is important to ensure that the balance (after reducing the stake amount and stake fee) is equal to or greater than ED.
An example of a complete input for staking would be the following image. Click "Submit" to continue.
Step 5: Check the information carefully and confirm your staking request by clicking "Approve".
Step 6: The result is in!
You can see your staking transaction details by clicking on the "View transaction" button.
